Saurashtra produced an all-round show to beat Rajasthan by 25 runs and register their third win out of four matches in Group B at the Syed Mushtaq Ali Twenty20 cricket tournament, here today.
Opting to bat, Saurashtra posted 140 for the loss of five wickets and then bundled out Rajasthan for 115 in 19.3 overs.
Saurashtra's total was largely buld around four batsmen -- Jaydev Unadkat (39 not out off 19 balls), Deepak Punia (30), Avi Barot (27) and opener Sheldon Jackson (23).
In fact, it was Unadkat's rear-guard knock lower down the order that helped Saurashtra emass the total. He struck five boundaries and two sixes during the quickfire innings.
Off-spinner Chandrapal Singh was pick of the bowlers for Rajasthan registering economical figures of three for 13 from his four overs.
Defending the total, right-arm medium pacer Shaurya Sanandia (3/13) and Prerak Mankad (2/27) starred with the ball as Saurashtra bowled out Rajasthan for 115 with three balls to spare.
Saurashtra fielders too were on the mark as they accounted for three runs outs.
For Rajasthan, Chandrapal Singh top-scored with a 27-ball 36 while Rajesh Bishnoi and Puneet Yadav made 24 and 20 respectively.
Brief Scores:
Saurashtra: 140 for five in 20 overs (Jaydev Unadkat 39 not out, Deepak Punia 30 not out; Chandrapal Singh 3/13).
Rajasthan: 115 all out in 19.3 overs (Chandrapal Singh 36; Shaurya Sanandia 3/13).
