As part of its plans to acquire a bigger market share in South India, Schneider Electric, the global specialist in energy management and automation, today unveiled its mobile van campaign here.
'Switch on India' campaign is a bid to reach out to end customers, electricians and retailers in the low voltage electrical retail market, which is pegged at Rs 1,200 crore, Schneider Electric India Director Sales, Manish Khandelwal said on the sidelines of the launch
The company has firmed up plans to acquire a bigger market share in the Rs 5,000 crore market for low voltage electrical products such as MCBs, RCCBs, Distribution Boards, Switches and Sockets across India, he said.
Under the initiative, Schneider will showcase its range of green low-voltage electrical products in Tamil Nadu and engage with local electricians and retailers to generate awareness around safety and efficiency.
Stating that the van will display Schneider Electric Final Distribution and Wiring Devices products, Khandelwal said eight such vans will travel across electrical markets in India, covering close to 100 cities over the next one month.
The vans will travel across Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, West Bengal and states of North East.
Stating that the company has already trained more than 50,000 electricians under its Electrician Training Program across India, he said training centres would be opened in 500 districts across the country and help them set up a Centre of Excellence focused on power, solar and automation sectors.
The company has a manufacturing plant in Chennai, catering to product demand in more than 100 countries with more than 2000 employees, majority of the being women, Khandelwal said.
