Simultalla SHO Aswhini Kumar said that eastern and northern side of verandah of the school building was partially damaged in the blast carried out by naxalites late last night in the village falling in Chakai block of the district.
Kumar took stock of the situation following the blast, after the villagers informed the police.
Some explosive material has been found around 50 metres away from the school building premises, the SHO said.
Chakai Block Development Officer-cum-Returning Officer Rajiv Ranjan made it clear that voting would be carried out at polling station in the school.
