The man was arrested today, they said.
Police said the two were in love and the girl had asked her to marry him once she attains the eligible age of of 18, but he had refused.
On the pretext of talking to her about it, he invited her to his house yesterday and raped her, they said.
The man was produced before a court in that town today and remanded to 15 days judicial custody.
