Though police conducted searches in the three schools no bombs were detected, police said.
They said some unidentified persons came in a car and gave an envelope to a student of Government High School, Thenur here asking him to hand over to the Head Master.
The student handed over the the envelope to Vice Principal Ranjith Sundar. The envelope contained a letter, warning that bombs will be placed in three schools in Government High School, Thenur, Thanthai Periyar Govt Higher Secondary School, Karaikal and Govt High School, Tirunallar.
