Scrap godowns gutted in fire in Thane

At least ten scrap godowns in Shil-Daighar area of Thane city were today gutted in a fire that broke out in one of the godowns.
Chief of the Regional Disaster Management Control Cell Santosh Kadam said the godowns stored cotton, sponge, cotton waste, etc.
There are more than 30 to 40 sheds in the area which are used as godowns to store scrap.
Fire started in a godown which stored sponge and spread.
At least a dozen fire tenders were rushed to the spot. The blaze was contained after two hours. No casualties were reported.
Cause of the fire was yet to be ascertained.
