The teachers, 26 primary, two nursery and a special teacher, were awarded a cash prize of Rs 7,000, a commendation certificate, a memento and a shawl, a statement from the civic body said.
The dignitaries present at the function included Mayor of South Delhi Sarita Choudhary.
Municipal teachers from four zones presented colourful cultural programmes.
The officials also announced increase in cash prize to Rs 9,000 from next year and establishment of a smart class room equipped with modern technologies like computer, learner board, audio visual facility etc, to boost the teachers' morale to carry forward their work towards excellence.
