Delhiites experienced another blistering hot day as maximum temperature in the city settled three notches above normal at 42.3 degree Celsius.
According to the local MeT department, the minimum temperature was 26.2 degree Celsius, which was one degree above normal for this time of the season.
Humidity oscillated between 50 per cent and 18 per cent.
Haryana and Punjab also remained in the grip of intense heat wave with Hisar recording to be the hottest place in the two states at 42.5 degrees Celsius.
Narnaul (41.5 degrees Celsius) and Ambala (39.5 degrees Celsius) also experienced a hot day.
While Chandigarh's maximum settled two notches above normal at 40.1 degrees Celsius, Ludhiana and Patiala recorded a high of 41 and 40.7 degrees Celsius respectively.
Meanwhile, mercury plummeted by one to three degrees Celsius at many places in Rajasthan following the entry of western disturbance from Pakistan and Arabian Sea.
The sudden strike of western disturbance caused light drizzle in Jodhpur giving residents some respite from the blistering heat wave conditions.
Churu was the hottest place in Rajasthan recording a maximum of 44.5 degrees Celsius.
Jaipur, which recorded a maximum temperature of 41.4 degrees Celsius, experienced dust storm late in the afternoon and light drizzle in some parts.
It was another sizzling day in Kota which recorded a maximum temperature of 42.9 degrees Celsius.
