The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) had interviewed three candidates - PTC India Director (Marketing) and Business Development Rajib Kumar Mishra, Konkan Railway Corporation Ltd
Director (Finance) Amitabh Banerjee and SECI Director (Finance) C Kannan - for the post, PESB said on its website.
However, the board did not find any of the three candidates suitable for the post, it added.
"The board did not find any candidate suitable, and recommended that the administrative ministry may choose an appropriate course of further action for selection," PESB said.
"The Managing Director is the chief executive of the corporation and accountable to its board of directors and government/share holder. He is responsible for the efficient functioning of the corporation, and for achieving its corporate objectives and performance parameters," according to the government head-hunter.
The SECI was set up as an implementation and facilitation institution dedicated to the solar energy sector under the aegis of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, with the mandate to undertake wide ranging activities under the National Solar Mission.
Now, SECI encompasses total gamut of renewable energy sector of solar, wind, small hydro, biomass, geothermal etc.
