Security agencies need to be sensitive to human rights and adhere to the protocols for law enforcement, Union minister Hansraj Gangaram Ahir said today.
Addressing a conference organised by the International Institute of Security and Safety Management here, Ahir said the security apparatus needs to be sensitive to the people's needs.
There is a growing demand for centers of excellence for training and better education on safety and security aspects, he said.
He said suggestions regarding tax on security equipment will be communicated to the GST Council and ministry officials for their analysis, according to a home ministry statement.
The Union minister of state for home said training and technological knowledge management form an essential component of capacity building in the security sector.
He called for the public and private sectors to work in synergy and learn from each other's best practices for better safety and security of the country.
