Security measures have been stepped up in Assam in view of the 12-hour Assam bandh tomorrow called by the Bajrang Dal to protest against the AIUDF's alleged links with jihadi and terror outfits in Bangladesh.
Patrolling has been enhanced and additional security personnel posted in vulnerable areas across the state to prevent any untoward incident, officials said.
The BJP state unit in a press release has extended support to the bandh.
The Bajrang Dal, ABVP and BJYM had yesterday burnt effigies of AIUDF president Badruddin Ajmal's across the state after a national news channel telecasted the news about the party's alleged terror links.
Ajmal has since denied the media report and termed it as "false and baseless" and threatened to take legal action against the TV channel telecasting the news.
