Pakistan and Australia are playing against each other in a group match today.
The teams are staying in different hotels, officials said, adding that additional force have been deployed in and around the cricket stadium and the hotels.
Commandos and SWAT personnel are also keeping strict vigil in and around the stadium.
Vehicles are being thoroughly checked, a police official said.
Special traffic routes had been designated through which the teams are travelling from their hotels in Chandigarh to the stadium in Mohali.
