Select centres' freight rates fall on tight cargo movements

Freight rates for nine-tonne pay load section for select destinations turned weak by Rs 1,000 at the local truck transport market today following insufficient cargo movements amid large position of trucks.
Transporters said restricted cargo movements in view of floods in several parts along with large availability of trucks mainly pulled down freight rates of some centres.
Delhi to Guwahati, Patna and Kolkata freight rates dropped by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 59,000, Rs 23,000 and Rs 27,000, respectively.
Rates to Pune, Mumbai and Coimbatore also went down by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 25,000, Rs 24,000 and Rs 67,000, respectively.
