Select copra firms up on increased demand, Rajapur plunges

Select copra prices firmed up at the spices market here today on renewed offtake from stockists coupled with higher domestic demand owing to ongoing festivities.
On the other hand, copra Rajapur fell sharply due to sluggish demand along with heavy arrivals from growing regions.
Black pepper, ginger bleached and ginger unbleached maintained its stable trend in the absence of necessary buying support.
Copra office Alapuzha, copra office Kozhikode and copra edible Mumbai all rose by Rs 50 per quintal each to Rs 7,050, 6,950 and Rs 7,950 respectively, as compared to Thursday's closing level of 7,000, 6,900 and 7,900.
Copra Rajapur Mumbai, however slumped by Rs 200 per quintal to Rs 8,500 from Rs 8,700 yesterday.
