Select edible oil prices fell up to Rs 100 per quintal at the wholesale oils and oilseeds market today owing to slackened demand from retailers against sufficient stocks.
However, mustard oil moved up on restricted supplies from producing regions.
Elsewhere, non-edible oils traded in a narrow range on lack of worthwhile support from consuming industries and settled at last levels.
Traders said easing demand from retailers against adequate stocks position mainly kept pressure on select edible oil prices.
Meanwhile, India's vegetable oil imports touched a record of 14.61 million tonnes in 2014-15 oil year ended October, on sharp jump in shipments of palm oils buoyed by lower prices, industry body SEA said.
The world's leading vegetable oil buyer had imported 11.82 million tonnes of vegetable oils during the previous year.
