Select grains extend losses on sluggish demand

Amid fall in demand from consuming industries and adequate stocks position, select grains prices further drifted lower by up to Rs 40 per quintal at the wholesale grains market today.
Traders said easing demand from consuming industries against sufficient stocks position kept pressure on select grains prices.
In the national capital, bajra and maize fell by Rs 40 and Rs 10 to Rs 1,560-1,570 and Rs 1,550-1,560, while barley lost Rs 20 at Rs 1,560-1,565 per quintal, respectively.
