Select pulses fall on low demand, higher supply

Prices of select pulses led by urad fell upto Rs 100 per quintal at the wholesale market today owing to slackened demand from retailers at prevailing levels amid adequate stock.
Traders said adequate stock in the market as supplies picked up after the government decided to import lentils in large quantities to check rising prices, mainly capped the rise.
They said fall in demand at existing levels also pulled down the pulse prices.
In the national capital, urad and its dal chilka local were down by Rs 100 each to Rs 8,200-8,700 and Rs 9,100-9,300 per quintal, respectively. Its dal best quality and dhoya followed suit and eased by a similar margin to Rs 9,300-9,900 and Rs 9,700-10,000 per quintal.
Masoor small and bold fell by Rs 50 each to Rs 6,600-6,700 and Rs 6,600-6,800 per quintal. Its dal local and best quality also fell by a similar margin to Rs 7,650-7,750 and Rs 7,750-7,850 per quintal.
Arhar eased to Rs 7,300-7,400 from previous level of Rs 7,300-7,450 per quintal. Its dal shed Rs 50 at Rs 8,700-8,900 per quintal.
Gram, gramdal local and best quality were down by Rs 50 each to Rs 4,500-5,200, Rs 4,800-5,000 and Rs 4,900-5,200 per quintal respectively.

Masoor small Rs 6,600-6,700, bold Rs 6,600-6,800, Dal Masoor local Rs 7,650-7,750, best quality Rs 7,750-7,850, Malka local Rs 7,800-8,150, best Rs 7,900-8,200, Moth Rs 5,850-6,150, Arhar Rs 7300-7400, Dal Arhar Dara Rs 8,700-8,900.
Gram Rs 4,500-5,200, Gramdal (local) Rs 4,800-5,000, best quality Rs 4,900-5,200, Besan (35 kg), Shakti Bhog Rs 2,180, Rajdhani Rs 2,180, Rajma Chitra Rs 4,600-5,800, Kabuli Gram small Rs 4,700-6,900, Dabra Rs 2,700-2,800, Imported Rs 4,700-5,100, Lobia Rs 5,200-5,600, Peas white Rs 2,850-2,875 and green Rs 2,850-2,950.
