Select pulses rise on tight supply

Select pulses led by arhar traded higher by up to Rs 300 per quintal at wholesale pulses market today on increased buying by stockists against restricted supplies from producing regions.
Marketmen said stockists buying in the face of restricted supplies from producing belts mainly pushed up arhar and other pulses prices.
Meanwhile, the government has imported 4,927 tonnes of arhar dal through MMTC this fiscal.
In the national capital, arhar and its dal dara variety shot up by Rs 300 each to Rs 7,800 and Rs 11,000-12,700 per quintal, respectively.
Masoor small and bold rose by Rs 50 each to Rs 5,000-5250 and Rs 5,150-5,300 per quintal. Its dal local and best quality traded higher by a similar margin to Rs 5,750-6,250 and Rs 5,850-6,350 per quintal.
Malka local and best quality followed the suit and enquired higher by the same margin to Rs 5,800-6,300 and Rs 5,900-6,300 per quintal.
In line with general trend, moth edged up by Rs 50 to Rs 5,400-5,800 per quintal. Gram, gramdal local and best quality too ended higher by Rs 50 each to Rs 4,900-5,300, Rs 5,100-5,400 and Rs 5,400-5,600 per quintal, respectively.

Masoor small Rs 5,000-5,250, bold Rs 5,150-5,300, Dal Masoor local Rs 5,750-6,250, best quality Rs 5,850-6,350, Malka local Rs 5,800-6,300, best Rs 5,900-6,300, Moth Rs 5,400-5,800, Arhar Rs 7,800, Dal Arhar Dara Rs 11,000-12,700.
Gram Rs 4,900-5,300, Gram dal (local) Rs 5,100-5,400, best quality Rs 5,400-5,600, Besan (35 kg), Shakti Bhog Rs 2,180, Rajdhani Rs 2,180, Rajma Chitra Rs 5,000-6,300, Kabuli Gram small Rs 5,500-7,350, Dabra Rs 2,700-2,800, Imported Rs 4,700-5,100, Lobia Rs 5,000-5,200, Peas white Rs 2,925-2,950 and green Rs 3,225-3,325.
