According to The Hollywood Reporter, Ed Harris, Bryan Cranston, Robert Duvall, Vincent D'Onofrio and Danny McBride are also among the cast members in the movie which Franco will direct.
Franco, 39, and Gomez previously worked together in 'Spring Breakers'. The 'I Am Michael' star collaborated with McBride in 2013's 'This Is the End' and 2011's 'Your Highness'.
'In Dubious Battle', published in 1936, tells the story of a man who organises a strike by fruit pickers in Southern California in the 1930s. Matt Rager ('As I Lay Dying') adapted the novel for the screenplay. Filming will start in March.
