Self-appreciation key to magnetic personality: Author

Appreciating oneself and a high level of self esteem is the key to a magnetic personality, first-time author Anupam Sharma has said.
Speaking at the launch of her debut book, "Purple Magnetism", recently at the Indian Habitat Centre here, she said charisma was more about self-esteem and self- appreciation.
"Love yourself, don't let the opinion of others affect you. The day you can do that, you will be free," she said.
Talking about the title of her book, she explained that the purple signified spirituality, joy and peace.
The book deals with the concept of "one's soul, spirit and inner journey", she added.

"Many people believe that charisma is something external like body language, looks and all, but it is about the inner power that radiates outside," Sharma, a certified Neuro- Linguistic Programming (NLP) practitioner, said.

NLP is about how an individual use words to create behavioural changes in a person.
The book also talks about how an individual's perception can influence his/her beliefs.
Being a first-time author, she said that her biggest inspiration was her parents.
She faced several problems while penning the book -- having been in depression for many years, she even thought of ending her life at one point of time.

However, she managed to see through the hurdles, thanks to her undeterred determination, dedication and action.
Sharma now looks forward to write more books.
The book has been published by Adhyyan Publications.
