"Blood-stained body of Omprakash Khurana was found at his residence in Gulmohar Colony," Palasia Police Station area Inspector, Rajendra Soni said.
The murder came to light after Khurana's gardener spotted the body and raised an alarm.
Khurana lived alone at his bungalow as his family stays outside the city, he said.
Khurana was a building work contractor and was also in business of supplying iron.
On likely motive behind the crime, Soni said police came to know of late that the deceased was engaged in a dispute with some persons over an immovable property.
