Senior journalist Athar Ali Abbasi passes away

Senior journalist Athar Ali Abbasi died here today following illness.
He was 87.
He was working with the Delhi edition of Rashtriya Sahara Urdu.
Abbasi, who was a journalist since 1954, had previously represented Urdu dailies 'Aljamiat' and 'Dawat' published from Delhi.
He was a member of the two-membered committee constituted by Uttar Pradesh government to keep a watch on paid news during the assembly elections in 2012.
