Senior official booked for forging birth certificate

A case has been registered against a senior government official attached to Panchayat Department for allegedly forging a birth certificate, he had submitted 30 years back, police said today.
Gurudas Parab, who works as an extension officer with state Panchayat Department, was yesterday booked for forging his birth certificate in 1985, which he had submitted to get the government job, police said.
The complaint was lodged by Director of Panchayat Department Gurudas Pilernkar.
"In 1985, the accused had prepared a forged birth certificate and produced it before the department of Panchayat," the complaint said.
Further investigation into the case is on.
