Senior RSP leader Debabrata Bandopadhyay dead

Senior RSP leader and former West Bengal minister Debabrata Bandopadhyay (90) died in a city hospital today.
"He passed away at a city hopsital after a cardiac arrest," RSP state secretary Khsiti Goswami said.
Bandopadhayay was elected to West Bengal assembly for the first time in 1977 and became Panchayat Minister in the first Jyoti Basu cabinet. He continued as minister in subsequent LF governments till 2001 and was in charge of Social Welfare and Irrigation.
He was also secretary of RSP state unit from 1998-2012.
His death was condoled by Left Front chairman Biman Bose and CPI-M state secretary Surjya Kanta Mishra.
