Septuagenarian crushed to death by neighbour's vehicle

A septuagenarian was crushed to death in West Bengal's Nadia district by a vehicle driven by a neighbour with whom the deceased had a bad relationship.
Topser Mondal (70) was sitting near the road at Tarapur when he was run over by the vehicle while it was taking a turn. Others sitting with Mondal had managed to move away.
Mondal was rushed to hospital, where he later died, the police said.
Police arrested driver Tinku Mondal and seized the vehicle.
All aspects of the incident are being looked into though it primarily appears to be an accident as it happened within hours of teasing Topser's daughter, police said.

There was an altercation between the two families following the incident and locals had managed to broker peace.
There was a similar incident a few days ago and Topser's family had alleged that Tinku and his friends were drinking in his cropland, the neighbours said.
