"Tinoo is walking in jail without any assistance and is okay as of now. Jail hospital physician Dr PR Sharma has medically examined her and she is okay," Central Jail Superintendent M R Patel told PTI.
Tinoo, accused in a disproportionate assets case, had surrendered before the local court after dodging police for over ten months.
Shandilya had told the court that if Tinoo did not get medical attention, her ailment could develop into uterus cancer. He said his client was "serious" and suffers from a heart ailment as well.
However, the additional district and sessions judge D P Mishra turned down her bail plea and asked her to undergo treatment in the jail hospital here.
Tinoo arrived in the court in an ambulance which she had hired from a private hospital and was assisted by nurses.
Income Tax sleuths had raided their residence here on February 4, 2010 and seized Rs 3.04 crore in cash as well as foreign currency to the tune of Rs seven lakh, besides documents related to properties, investments and 49 liquor bottles, including imported ones.
After Income Tax raids, the Lokayukta police raided their residence on December 10, 2010 and seized Rs seven lakh cash as well as other documents relating to their ill-gotten money.
The Lokayukta police had pegged the couple's unaccounted wealth at Rs 41.87 crore, after detailed investigation.
