Servant, accomplice arrested for couple's murder in UP

A 30-year-old servant and his accomplice have been arrested for allegedly killing a couple at their residence in Brahmpuri police station area here, police said.
Salman (30) and his friend Adil (25) were arrested last evening and sent to jail today for murder of a couple and Rs 61,500 cash and jewellery worth Rs six lakh was also recovered from their possession, SSP Subhash Singh Baghel said.
The couple's son Ayan (7) is the eye witness in the case, Baghel said, adding that he narrated the whole incident to the police.
Notably, bodies of Monu Sheikh (30) and his wife Lalita Sharma (30), a singer, were yesterday found in their house in Era Gardens here.

The duo killed them by slitting their throats with a sharp-edged weapon with an objective of loot, the SSP said.
Lalita was eight months pregnant, he said.
Salman was working at the couple's house for past three years, the SSP said, adding that he was also angry over misbehaviour by Lalita.
