woman, were arrested here today for their alleged involvement in crimes like burglaries and chain-snatchings, police said.
Police recovered stolen goods worth Rs 10 lakh, including 38 sovereigns of gold ornaments, besides Rs 10,000 from their possession.
"The gang is suspected to have involved in a string of burglaries and chain-snatchings in city," said the East Godavari district Additional SP Damodar.
He said the gang members would mainly target those houses where only single elderly women live and would committ the crime at knife point.
The accused are identified as Thamarana Ashok Kumar (19), Sangadi Kalyan kumar (20), Patta Siva Sai Dutta (20), Kolapureddi Krishnaveni (33), Boddu Praveen (26), Pyla Mahesh (25) and Y. Sampat Kumar(23).
