"Sunita Banjara, a resident of Onarji Ki Jhopdiya village slipped into the main canal of Abhayapura dam at Sadar police station area yesterday when she had gone with her mother to take bath," Dayaram Meena, Assistant Sub inspector, Sadar police station said.
The body was found by the villagers half a kilometers away from the spot last evening, after engineers of the water resource department were asked to stop the flow of water into the canal, he said.
The body of the minor girl was handed over to her parents after the postmortem at the district hospital today, police said.
