Chief Parliamentary Secretary (CPS) Mantar Singh Brar accompanied with four SGPC members visited the families of victims to hand over the cheques.
Two persons - Krishan Singh and Gurjit Singh of Nianiwala and Sarwan village respectively had died after being hit by bullets.
Brar said that the financial help was extended by SGPC to the families.
"It was an unfortunate incident and we have full sympathy with the families," Brar said.
Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi had also visited the two families to express sympathies and gave them a financial assistance of Rs one lakh each recently.
