The Shiromani Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee (SGPC) has decided to move the court over the alleged blasphemous act committed by Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal by putting up an image of the party symbol 'broom' with the picture of Golden Temple on its youth manifesto.
A case against AAP leaders should be filed under section 295, IPC (hurting religious sentiments) in a court in Amritsar in a day or so, SGPC head Avtar Singh Makkar said here today.
He said the case would be filed against AAP convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and the authors of the manifesto, Kanwar Singh Sandhu and Ashish Khetan.
Makkar said comparing the manifesto with the "holiest of the holy books" of Sikhs has hurt the religious sentiments of the community, adding that tendering an apology was not sufficient.
