Jaya has turned 69 today.
Shabana took to Twitter to wish the "Kal Ho Naa Ho" actress on her special day.
"Salgirah mubarak (Happy birthday) #JayaBachchan I joined films because of FTII film 'Suman' in which you played the lead with such freshness," wrote Shabana, alongside a still of Jaya's from one of her earlier films.
Both Shabana and Jaya are FTII alumni.
"Suman" was one of the early diploma films of FTII, made in 1970s.
