There was shallow fog and traces of rainfall witnessed in some areas of the national capital this morning with the minimum temperature settling at 12 degrees Celsius.
While flight operations were normal, as many as nine Delhi-bound trains, including Guwahati Rajdhani, were reported to be running late and one rescheduled due to fog.
"At 8.30 AM, the minimum temperature was recorded at 12 degrees Celsius, which is five notches above normal for this time of the year, and humidity was 87 per cent," said a MeT official.
He further said that visibility remained constant at 800 metres, recorded at 5.30 AM and 8.30 AM.
"There was shallow fog in the morning with traces of rainfall witnessed in certain areas," the official said.
The weatherman predicted partly clear sky for the day to be followed by shallow and/or moderate fog tomorrow morning.
"The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to settle at 24 and 9 degrees Celsius respectively, both five notches above normal," the official said, adding the maximum and minimum temperatures were reported at 25.1 and 8.5 degrees Celsius respectively yesterday.
A senior railway official said that nine Delhi-bound trains including Guwahati Rajdhani Express, Vikramshila Express and Magadh Express were running late.
"Also, the Delhi-Sarai Rohilla-Ferozepur Express had to be rescheduled because of the fog," the official said, adding that 82 trains remained cancelled as announced earlier.
A senior airport official said that flight operations were normal so far.
