When the petition came for hearing, Director General of Prosecutions T Asaf Ali told the court that he was engaged in another case and was not ready with the matter.
Expressing displeasure, Justice S S Sateeschandran said it was not desirable to adjourn a bail application when the accused is in custody.
Shalu was arrested early this month on a complaint by one Rafique Ali, who claimed that she had accompanied scam accused Biju Radhakrishnan when he collected Rs 20 lakh from him.
Her bail plea had earlier been rejected by a lower court in Thiruvananthapuram.
