Noted singer-composer Shankar Mahadevan's DVD album "Pahava Vithal" inspired by Shiv Sena President Uddhav Thackeray's aerial photography book by the same name will be released by tabla maestro Ustad Zakir Hussain here on July 10.
The function will be held at Ravindra Natya Mandir.
Addressing a press conference, Uddhav said the DVD project was a liasoning on his pictures of 'Pandharpur Wari' from the 2011 book and Shankar Mahadevan's music.
While the musician described Uddhav as one of the finest photographers in the country.
"When I saw the book, Uddhavji's images started playing in my mind and I started singing few 'abhangs'," he said.
Shankar said he decided to blend his music with imaginative and creative pictures shot by Uddhav.
"There can't be better occasion to release the DVD around Ashadhi Ekadashi. This album comprising about 10 'abhangs' is like breadth of fresh air," Shankar said.
Uddhav said the project fusing Shankar's music with his pictures was a unique concept. It is a DVD video album featuring Shankar with pictures shot by me in the background, he said.
"I am honoured that through my hobby and passion of photography I got a good friend like Shankar," he said.
Shankar said he was privileged when Uddhav himself shot my photo shoot for the cover album.
