BJP city unit chief Ashish Shelar today said he would meet Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to seek permission for operation of loudspeakers till midnight on the last three days of Navratri festival next month.
According to the Supreme Court order, use of loudspeakers is banned after 10 pm. However, the state government in its authority, can permit relaxation of this limit up to midnight for 15 days in a year.
"We have taken an appointment with the chief minister to seek his permission to celebrate last three days of Navratri till 12 am to get the best out of this auspicious festival," Shelar said.
The BJP MLA was addressing a gathering here during a 'bhoomi-pujan' ceremony in suburban Borivali, where singer Falguni Pathak popularly known as 'dandiya queen', will perform live for 11 consecutive days during Navratri, commencing from October 1.
Shelar said BJP MLA Manisha Choudhary and MP Gopal Shetty will accompany him for the meeting.
