Chief Minister Hemant Soren received the award on behalf of his father from Ashok Bhagat, the founder of reputed NGO 'Vikash Bharti' that serves the poor and the deprived in Gumla and other parts of the state.
The chief minister said his father deserved the award and thanked the foundation for recognising him as he (Shibu Soren) fought against usurers to protect the poor and for a separate state.
The Chief Minister handed over the "Maha-Nayak" award to Prof Dixit and industrialist Rungta.
Lauding Prof Dixit of imparting the knowledge of metaphysics, Hemant said it reflected his contribution in the character building and enlightenment of the society.
"The youth should take advantage by learning from the scholar," Soren said of Prof Dixit.
Presenting the award to Rungta, the Chief Minister said the industrialist had addressed the requirements of the unemployed through his entrepreneurship.
