Shimla hit by rainfall, hailstorm

The Himachal Pradesh capital and surrounding areas experienced respite from heat as strong showers accompanied by hail lashed the region this evening.
Mashobra near Shimla received 5 mm rains followed by Chalsea 2 mm, Shimla 1 mm and Kalpa 0.8 mm, an official said.
The MeT office had predicted rains or thunderstorm at isolated places today andtomorrow.
There was no significant change in maximum temperatures, he said.
Una recorded a high of 39.4 degree, Sundernagar 37.1 degree followed by Nahan 35.8 degree, Solan 33.5 degree, Bhuntar 31 degree, Dharamsala 28.6 degree, Shimla 27.5 degree, Manali 22.1 degree and Kalpa 21.6 degree Celsius.
The minimum day temperatures also stayed four to eight degrees above normal. Keylong in tribal Lahaul and Spiti district recorded a low of 4.6 degree, followed by Manali 5.2 degree, Kalpa 8.8 degree, Bhuntar 13.2 degree, Sundernagar 15.9 degree, Dharamsala and Solan 16.2degree, Shimla 17.9 degree, Una 19.2 degree and Nahan 22.0 degree Celsius, the official said.
The local MeT office has predicted dry weather in the region for five days from April 19.
