Shimmer, solids dominate the Emmy red carpet

Television stars put their best fashion foot forward at the 67th Emmys with shimmery metallics and solids ranging from blues to brights dominating the red carpet.
From Kerry Washington's Marc Jacobs thigh high slit number to equally dazzling sequined structured Prabal Gurung gown worn by Sarah Paulson and "Modern Family" star Sofia Vergara's Italian gold lame jacquard St Jean dress with 64,000 hand-applied Swarovski crystals, metallic shimmer seemed to be the flavour of Emmys this season.
The best actress winner Viola Davis made head turns in a pristine white dress with blingy black leaf embroidery on it. She completed her look with an ebony clutch, Stuart Weitzman shoes, and Neil Lane diamonds.

"The Mom" actress Allison Janney, who picked up her second Emmy for her role in the series, flaunted her figure in a metallic grey and black Labourjoisie illusion dress.
Other names, who impressed the fashion critics with elegant glint, were Jaimie Alexander in Armani Prive, Christina Hendricks in a Naeem Khan dress with Art Deco details and Lena Headey in wine coloured beaded halter neck gown.
Actress Padma Laxmi stunned in a yellow gold Romona Keveza dress.

Best actress in drama series nominee, Taraji P Henson lead the solid brigade in sultry black Alexander Wang attire.
Supporting her were Sarah Hyland in plum Zac Posen outfit, pop star Lady Gaga in classic one-shoulder black dress and "Mindy Project" creator Mindy Kaling in yellow mermaid fit gown.

The Emmys had its share of stars, who failed to score good marks at the fashion scale, with Heidi Klum leading the list.
