Two days after Shiv Sena leader Harish Singla was booked for allegedly attacking toll plaza staff in Patiala, his party supporters today burnt effigies of the Punjab government, demanding dropping of charges against him.
Led by Sena's state spokesperson Inderjit Karwal, the protesters marched from Hanumangarhi temple here till the sugar mill crossing on the national highway.
They also raised slogans against Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and Deputy CM Sukhbir Singh Badal.
Karwal alleged that harsh sections like 307 (attempt to murder) and 295-A (deliberate and malicious acts, intended to outrage religious feelings of any class) were added yesterday in the FIR registered against Singla and others.
A case was registered against Singla and others for allegedly attacking and injuring toll plaza staff on Friday at Nabha in Patiala.
