Unidentified miscreants desecrated a Shivalinga in a temple situated on the bank of a local river, which resulted in tension in Talen town here today, police sources said.
Though the police rounded up few suspects in connection with the incident, no arrests have been made so far, he said.
After news about damage to the temple spread, tension spread in the town and a large number of people gathered at the spot and demanded immediate arrest of those behind the incident.
Rajgarh District Superintendent of Police (SP) Shashikant Shukla and other top officials reached the spot in the morning along with a dog squad in search of the miscreants.
"A case has been registered under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code against unidentified miscreants," the SP told PTI.
