Pune golfer Shweta Galande showcased her golfing prowess as she carded the day's lowest score of two under 70 to finish at the top of the leaderboard after the second round of the seventh leg of Hero Women's Professional Golf Tour, here today.
Trailing Shweta by just a stroke is Delhi golfer Ankita Tiwana, who is placed second with a total of 144 after the second round.
Overnight leader and Delhi amateur Mehar Atwal slipped to the third place with a total score of 146 after 36 holes at the Royal Springs Golf Course.
Shweta, with total is 143 after 36 holes, had a troubled start as she carded a double bogey on the 4th hole, but quickly stabilised herself with a birdie in the very next hole, only to falter again with a sixth hole bogey. Thereafter, she never looked back, as she went on to card a string of four birdies on the 8th, 10th, 12th, and 16th holes.
Ankita, who played a very similar round, is also the only other golfer to card an under par score of one under 71 today. the Delhi golfer began her campaign with a bogey on the 2nd hole, followed by a double bogey on the 4th hole, but she raised her game at the right time and did not falter again, carding four birdies on the 9th, 11th, 13th and 15th holes to finish at the second place with a total of 144 after 36 holes.
