Kolkata Police sources said the SI Sital Dey was today placed under suspension afer the 24-year old woman, who is a singer at a bar in the vicinity, filed a complaint that Dey had assaulted her on Sunday night at a taxi stand after an altercation.
A case was registered against him and he has been suspended with departmental inquiry started against him, the sources said.
