Members of the non-profit Guru Gobind Singh Foundation presented the award and Siropa to Holder at a ceremony held at the headquarters of the Department of Justice in the nation's capital this week, a media release said.
"This award is annually given to a person recognising their spirit of sewa and contributions toward the Sikh community and community at large," said Inder Paul Singh Gadh, chairman of foundation.
"This year, we felt that there is no one more deserving than Eric Holder, the 82nd Attorney General of the United States, who has contributed tremendously towards the betterment of the Sikhs in the United States," he said.
