Silver prices spurted by Rs 400 to Rs 41,374 per kg in futures trading today as traders increased their bets amid firming global trends.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in July moved up by Rs 400, or 0.98 per cent to Rs 41,374 per kg in a business turnover of 1,440 lots.
Similarly, the metal for delivery in far-month September contracts traded higher by Rs 381, or 0.92 per cent, to Rs 42,013 per kg in 26 lots.
Analysts attributed the rise in silver prices at futures trade to a firming trend in the precious metal overseas.
Meanwhile, silver surged 1.23 per cent to USD 17.29 an ounce in Singapore.
