Silver futures climb Rs 522 on global cues

Silver prices spurted by Rs 522 to Rs 47.864 per kg in futures trade today as speculators built up positions amid a higher global trend.
In futures trading at the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in September was trading notably higher by Rs 522, or 1.10 per cent, to Rs 47,864 per kg, in a business turnover of 2,370 lots.
Also, the white metal for delivery in far-month December was up by Rs 504, or 1.04 per cent, to Rs 49,025 per kg in 19 lots.
Analysts said speculators created fresh positions in tune with higher global trend, pushed silver prices higher at futures trade.
Meanwhile, silver rose 1.22 per cent to USD 20.36 an ounce in Singapore.
