Silver futures fall 1.3 pc on spot demand, global cues

Silver futures on Thursday slumped by Rs 618 to Rs 46,773 per kg as participants cut down their bets on low spot demand.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver contracts for March delivery tumbled Rs 618, or 1.3 per cent, to Rs 46,773 per kg in a business turnover of 10,366 lots.

Besides, the white metal to be delivered in May fell by Rs 696 to Rs 47,234 per kg in 131 lots.

In the international market, silver prices traded 1.44 per cent lower at USD 17.91 an ounce in New York.
