Silver futures fall on weak domestic trends

Silver prices on Tuesday eased Rs 254 to Rs 42,229 per kg in the futures trade as speculators cut positions amid weak trend in the spot market.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver contracts for the September delivery fell Rs 254, or 0.6 per cent, to Rs 42,229 per kg in a business turnover of 7,442 lots.

However, silver for delivery in December contracts rose Rs 347, or 0.8 per cent, to Rs 43,187 per kg in 929 lots.

Globally, however, silver was trading 0.20 per cent up at USD 16.43 an ounce in New York.
