Silver futures gain 0.82% on firm global cues
Press Trust of India New Delhi Silver prices traded higher by 0.82 per cent to Rs 40,373 per kg in futures trade today as speculators raised bets amid a firm trend in precious metals overseas.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in far-month May rose by Rs 329, or 0.82 per cent to Rs 40,373 per kg in business turnover of 4 lots.
Likewise, the white metal for delivery in March contracts was trading higher by Rs 319, or 0.81 per cent to Rs 39,745 per kg in 888 lots.
Market analysts said increasing of positions by traders, tracking a firm trend overseas, mainly influenced silver prices at the futures trade.
Globally, silver was up 0.56 per cent to USD 16.16 an ounce in Singapore today.
