SIlver prices were down by another Rs 133 to Rs 42,962 per kg in futures trade today, as participants engaged in trimming positions, tracking a weak trend overseas.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in far-month May was trading lower by Rs 133, or 0.31 per cent, to Rs 42,962 per kg in a business turnover of five lots.
On similar lines, the white metal for delivery in March lost Rs 107, or 0.25 per cent, to Rs 42,395 per kg in a business volume of 185 lots.
In the international market, silver was trading 0.23 per cent down at USD 17.67 an ounce in Singapore today.
Marketmen attributed the fall in silver prices to a weak trend in the precious metals in global market and proft-booking by speculators.
